Sofia, Bulgaria

yay, bulgaria!
We only saw the capital city, but there were some drop-dead gorgeous mountains on the way in! Bulgaria is beautiful! And the people are nice!

We saw this truck while we were completely lost in Sofia! People in Bulgaria shake their head for yes, and nod for no. Somehow, this crucial piece of information was forgotten. We asked for directions. Pointing to a map, we ask a man on the street. The man proceeds to point and shake his head, and then point the other way and nod. "Oh, we should go this way! Thanks!". We head towards the highway.
haha! Just a little ways in the other direction was the center of town!

A mosque from the Ottoman Empire in the 1500's!

Trams are cool.

Ah, ok... we'll just go... this... way...?
As a neat side note, the Cyrillic langauge used in much of Eastern Europe and Russia was not invented in Russia - it was invented in Bulgaria!

There was a McDonald's literally everywhere in Europe, but this one was by far the funniest.

There was a changing of the guards ceremony too, which we were able to catch a glimpse of!
