Rest of Brasov & Bucharest, Romania

Brasov, moving on to Bucharest at the big huge building picture...

The Black Church at night!

This is in Bucharest, the capital of Romania! Coming here to the former National Palace felt like a real 'behind the iron curtain' experience...

It felt pretty uncomfortable to be there...

A lot of beautiful buildings had gotten destroyed during the dictator's reign, and their remains were just left to be forgotten.

This photo was taken back in Brasov, and as you can see, there was a big tourist play off of the Dracula thing.

Coming back to Bucharest, this was part of the Revolution Plaza, a monument to commemorate the place where people booed the dictator, Nicolea Ceausescu, as he was giving a speech in 1989. He ordered the people to be gunned down and thousands of people were massacered in this spot. Creepy.
Shortly after though, the dictator's (Nicolea Ceausescu) regime ended and he was executed on Christmas Day, 1989.

There are between 100,000 and 200,000 stray dogs in Bucharest. We saw one get hit by a car, and we were just here for one day. The dog didn't die, and he was able to run/limp away, but his yelping and the amount of limping he was doing lead me to believe that he was pretty badly hurt. :(
We also saw kids throwing rocks at these dogs at the train station. Not cool.
